If your ideal holiday is a cosy house in a quiet village in the middle of green fields and rolling hills yet only a short drive from numerous beaches - and you don't want it to cost the earth - then look no further!

Our house in Normandy, La Bas du Bourg, is waiting for you.

Nestled between Vire and Brecy, the quaint village of St Michel du Montjoie has a Granite Museum that is worth a visit. The Norman Church stands proudly on top of the hill, from where you can catch a glimpse of Mont St Michel (on a clear day).

The village shop is a few steps around the corner from our house.

The House

The picture above shows our barn and enclosed quarter-acre field directly in front of our house, which has a courtyard to the right, ideal for barbecues.

From the courtyard, the open plan kitchen, dining and living room and two upstairs windows, you can watch over the field as your children play safely.

The house has three double bedrooms and a modern bathroom. All rooms have independent radiators and there is a traditional fireplace in the main living area.

Around About

You are welcome to use our three fold-up bicycles during your stay.

The nearest beach is at Granville, 40 minutes away, but there are many others - some quiet and some active (surfing and boarding).

Locally, Vire has a swimming pool and flume, skate park and exhibition centre, Lake Dathee has a golf course, walks and pic-nic area, you can explore and pic-nic in the Sourdeval forest area and visit the Epona Trust, a horse sactuary run by an English family.

Travelling to your holiday home is easy and there are many routes to choose. The nearest port is Caen, about an hour's drive or, from the Channel tunnel, the journey takes about four hours.

Three double bedrooms sleep six with room in two of the bedrooms for a travel-cot (not supplied).

As a guide, prices to rent the whole property are:
July £40.00 per night;
August £40.00 per night;
all other available dates,
£30.00 per night.

Minimum stay is two nights, prices include electricity and gas. Bed linen can be provided at £10.00 per set or take your own. Please supply your own towels.
